Announcing the ‘Read More’ Newsletter
I’m an inveterate reader, which obviously means I read quite a few books. I’m also a generalist and I like to read widely. Pardon the humble brag, but I also get quite a few people asking me for book recommendations and I don’t have time to always respond to them individually. Economist that I am, I saw an opportunity to provide a service with minimal costs that can make some readers (and myself) better off without making anyone worse off.
Accordingly, I have decided to create a newsletter so that I’ll have a place to share my book recommendations with others. This newsletter is, of course, free and is called Read More. Basically, I will send this newsletter out once a month and in it I will include a brief blurb about any excellent books that I read in the prior month. You guessed it, some months this newsletter might be blank and some months that might mean up to five books.
There are many hucksters out there who try to sell Twitter-esque sound bites of knowledge from books in a variety of formats. If you’re looking for that sort of thing, then this newsletter is not for you. This newsletter will not make you any wiser or provide you ‘more knowledge in less time’. People that offer these types of services are full of shit — no one can do the reading for you. All I can do is recommend books that I’ve read and that I think added value to my life. You’ll have to do the work by reading and struggling with the books yourself. On a less harsh note, I’m always interested in friendly discussions about ideas from books (feel free to email me).
What’s the catch? There isn’t one except for the fact that I make a small affiliate commission (at no extra cost to you) if you decide to purchase one of the books using the Amazon links. That’s it. I promise I’m not selling your email address or anything.
Anyway, if you’re interested in joining, you can subscribe to the Read More newsletter here.
